Cognitive-behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH)
Why have Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy?
If you have an issue, condition or emotion that is preventing you
from living the life you want to lead
OR
wish to fulfil your potential, CBH can help you to move
forward.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is simply a method of using various
naturally-occurring
psychological and physiological states. While this is often referred
to as a 'trance', there is nothing mystical about this state.
In
fact, it has been theorised that we are 'hypnotised' as much as 90% of
the time!
Have you ever:
- driven from one point to another with no memory of how you got there?
- OR
- got up in the morning and found yourself washed, dressed and ready for work without remembering doing any of those things?
- OR
- daydreamed?
- OR
- been in conversation with a friend and realised that they haven't heard a word you've been saying?
If the answer to any of these questions is 'yes', then you have been in a state of self-hypnosis or observed one at work in others. Of course, this is not a problem when the resulting thoughts, feelings and behaviour are beneficial to us. However, on occasions this 'autopilot' state results in psychological and emotional problems, or unwanted habits. At this point, it is often necessary to seek assistance in identifying and transforming thoughts and behaviours into more useful ones.
Hypnotherapy practised with integrity by a competent therapist
is
completely safe, with no harmful side-effects and the benefits are long
lasting and often permanent.

Questions
What is Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy?
Cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy (CBH) is a simple,
down-to-earth
and commonsense therapy. It works on the basis that the
client already possesses the answers to their own issues; they are
simply not in their 'conscious' awareness.
Ana's job as the therapist is to assist you in finding those answers and then use that knowledge to bring about the changes you want. Techniques drawn from many areas of psychotherapy are utilised to accomplish this: hypnosis, cognitive behavioural therapy, neurolinguistic programming (NLP) and Gestalt, to name but a few. Central to Ana's therapeutic arsenal is the revolutionary WordweavingTM process of hypnotic language pioneered by Trevor Silvester, which uses the client's own model of the world to effect profound and lasting change at a deep level.
CBH is a highly collaborative process, so the degree of engagement and participation by the client will determine the results. In short, what you get out of it depends what you are prepared to put into it!
What happens during a CBH session?
The
initial session with Ana consists of an in-depth
consultation to establish the precise nature of your issue and what you
wish to achieve. Then you will discuss strategies for the best way
forward.
Before your next session Ana draws up a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs. Sessions are supplemented by 'homework' - simple exercises for you to complete outside of the sessions, designed to consolidate positive change and to maximise the effectiveness of your work together.
How can CBH help?
These are just some of the ways that CBH can help. if your issue is not listed, please get in touch to see if Ana can help you.

What Happens if I have CBH?
Can
you imagine living your life to the fullest, free of the
