What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is the process whereby an individual (or group) is guided into a trance state for an agreed purpose. A trance state is an altered state of consciousness, when the brain waves produced fall between the Alpha waves of a wakeful state & the Beta waves exhibited when asleep. Studies show that we are in trance states as much as 90% of the time. Have you ever:

What is Cognitive Hypnotherapy?
Cognitive Hypnotheraphy (CH) works on the basis that the client already unconsciously possesses the answers to their own questions; it is Ana's job as the therapist to assist you in finding them. Techniques drawn from many areas of psychology are utilised to accomplish this: Hypnosis, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Gestalt and Time Line Reprocessing, to name but a few. Central to Ana's therapeutic arsenal is the revolutionary WordweavingTM process of hypnotic language pioneered by Trevor Silvester, which uses the client's own model of the world to effect profound and lasting change at a deep level.
What happens during a Cognitive Hypnotherapy session?
The initial session with Ana consists of an in-depth consultation to establish the precise nature of your issue and what you wish to achieve. Then you will discuss a strategy for the best way to tackle your problem. Remember - if by the end of this first session it is not felt that CH sessions will be able to assist you, there is no charge.
Before your next session Ana draws up a treatment strategy tailored specifically to your needs. Sessions are supplemented by 'homework' - simple exercises for you to complete outside of the sessions to consolidate positive change and to maximise the effectiveness of your work together.
